Colorado Drone Airshow 2023

OHI’s BROADN researchers and students attended CSU’s first Drone Air Show in October and demonstrated the use of drones to sample the air at high altitudes.

Using a drone allows for air sampling in hard-to-reach airspace to understand the lofting and movement of microorganisms and their impact on human, animal, and environmental health. At the show, BROADN Graduate Students Ashley Miller and Peter Kessinger demonstrated how drone technology is used to fly a SASS air sampler above various sampling locations to collect high-altitude data.
