Dr. Stephen Archer is a Senior Research Fellow at Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand studying the microbial ecology of airborne microorganisms. He has led a broad range of projects involving the molecular genetic analysis of microbial communities in low biomass samples collected from extreme environments around the world. During his postdoc he built a research programme in aerosol microbiology culminating in the Global Atmospheric Microbiome Project. He is excited to be an international collaborator with BROADN which brings together a multidisciplinary science team that will better understand the drivers of microbial community structuring in the air.
