Sue VandeWoude, DVM, received her veterinary training at Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and completed her postdoctoral training in Comparative Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. She has spent her academic career at Colorado State University in a variety of teaching, research, and service roles. VandeWoude served as Associate Dean for Research in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences prior to assuming the role of CSU OHI director in 2020. Her research includes investigation of disease spillover between wildlife and domestic animals, disease ecology, and translational medicine. As Director of the CSU One Health Institute (OHI), VandeWoude facilitates research, teaching, and outreach related to issues at the nexus of human, animal, and environmental health (One Health). She serves as BROADN’s project manager and oversees personnel hired for program management. VandeWoude was elected to the National Academy of Science in 2019 and University Distinguished Professor in 2020.
